Because I know  you carried so much more
than you ever let show.
Always striving,
Always comparing,
Always wanting to be better —
When to me, you were already everything.

You were perfect in your imperfection.
You didn't need to change.
Not then. Not ever.

To me -you are still perfect.
In all you did,
All you do,
And  all you will ever be.

You were, and always will be, the very best to me —
In everything you did,
Everything you were,
And everything  you remain in my heart.

I still see you in  all the quiet moments.
In the light between seasons.
In the space you left,
which somehow still feels full.

You are in the calm.
You are in the storm.
You are in me.

It's been  4 years
since I last heard your birthday wish —
But  17 years and counting
With your love, your care,
Your quiet strength —
And your presence that never truly left.

The kind of love that doesn't fade,
that doesn't falter,
that doesn't need to ask for anything more.

Still, there's one question
I carry like a whisper:

Would you have done the same…
If I had been there,
right next to you?

Would  my arms have been enough to anchor you?
Would  my voice have silenced the storm
For just one more day?

I will never know.
But  I will always wonder.

And yet, even through that wondering,
even through the ache —
